“600 Passengers Safely Evacuated After Dual Train Collision”

Must read

Two trains carrying around 600 passengers collided with a vehicle stuck on railway tracks in a recent rail incident. The incident occurred in Błonie, Poland, at a level crossing on Poniatowskiego Street on January 25.

According to PolsatNews, a Ford Focus experienced a breakdown at the crossing, and attempts to move the vehicle off the tracks were unsuccessful. An Intercity train traveling from Szczecin Główny to Rzeszów Główny then struck the car, pushing it onto the opposite track. Subsequently, another train collided with the vehicle, which had reportedly caught fire.

Deputy Inspector Ewelina Gromek-Oćwieja of the Warsaw West District Police stated, “A Ford Focus broke down at a level crossing. The driver tried to push it off the tracks, but unfortunately, he didn’t succeed in time, leading to the car being hit by an Intercity train. The car was then hit by a second Intercity train on the other track.”

Fortunately, all 600 passengers from both trains were safely evacuated, and no casualties have been confirmed.
