A man who harassed television and radio personality Kate Thornton by sending her thousands of messages and waiting for her outside her workplace has been sentenced. James McCamley, 53, bombarded the 52-year-old former X Factor host with 6,000 texts and emails, causing her to feel scared. He even traveled from Scotland to London to visit her at work, bringing gifts like wine and waiting for her for hours.
As a result of these incidents, security at the station was heightened, and staff members were made aware of McCamley’s presence to avoid contact with him. The prosecutor described the stalking as relentless and obsessive, with the victims seeking restraining orders.
McCamley, who admitted to two stalking charges, was given a 12-month community order by the court in North London. Kate Thornton, known for her roles on The X Factor, Loose Women, and This Morning, shared her experience of being pressured to lose weight during her time on The X Factor. Despite the challenges she faced in her career, she stood up against unfair demands and expressed pride in how she handled the situation.
Following her tenure on The X Factor, Kate continued to shine as a presenter on shows like This Morning, Lorraine, and various radio programs. She opened up about the pain of being fired from The X Factor by Simon Cowell but emphasized that she refused to let that define her.
