Co-op is gearing up to unveil 11 fresh stores this week, with a complete roster of locations now confirmed. These new establishments span from Bristol to the Scottish Highlands, and notably include the Co-op’s debut as the primary retailer at the emerging Brent Cross Town development in London.
The store openings consist of a blend of brand-new outlets, franchise-managed stores, and revamped locations. This initiative forms part of the retailer’s commitment to revamp over 200 stores by 2024/25.
This recent announcement is part of the 50-store expansion program that Co-op disclosed for November and December, just in time for the festive season. The company is urging the Government to implement business rates reform in the upcoming Budget discussions.
Kate McCrae, Co-op Operations Director, emphasized the company’s focus on establishing local stores that serve as vital community hubs beyond mere shopping outlets. She stressed the significance of investing in stores nationwide to support local economies, create jobs, and champion British suppliers.
In tandem with these store expansions, Co-op has introduced 200 new personalized offers, enhanced discounts, member-exclusive games, and unique deals under its membership scheme. Shoppers stand to save over £90 across October, November, and December through these initiatives, with prizes changing monthly.
Rachel Halter, Director of Membership at Co-op, highlighted the brand’s commitment to delivering enhanced value to its members through a wider array of personalized offers and rewards. This strategy aims to ensure that members can enjoy substantial savings on their preferred products consistently.
As part of its ongoing efforts to provide value to customers, Co-op continues to enhance its offerings and rewards program for members.
