A popular actor from Coronation Street has surprised fans by sharing a photo with his twin brother, who also had a role on the ITV soap opera.
Liam McCheyne portrays Dylan Wilson, the child of characters Sean Tully (Anthony Cotton) and Violet Wilson (Jenny Platt). He initially appeared on the show in 2011 and made a comeback in 2022.
Liam’s character, Dylan, faced a dramatic storyline in 2025 when he was caught up in a violent incident resulting in the death of Mason Radcliffe (played by Luca Toolan). Subsequently, his character served time in a Secure Training Centre but has since returned to the show.
Interestingly, fans have only recently realized that both Liam and his twin brother Connor originally played the role of Dan. While Liam pursued acting, Connor seems to have shifted his focus to sports.
Recently, Liam shared a special moment with his brother on their 19th birthday. They posted pictures from over the years on Instagram, with Liam captioning, “Happy birthday to my best mate and right-hand man @connormccheyne1. Here’s to more memories in chapter 19!” Connor wrote, “Happy birthday! @liammccheyne Here’s to a great 2026.”
Their colleagues from Coronation Street extended their birthday wishes upon seeing the post. Vicky Myers (Lisa Swain) and Luca Toolan (Mason Radcliffe) both sent their regards.
Fans were previously shocked to learn about Liam having a twin, with images from The British Soap Awards prompting surprised reactions. Many expressed their astonishment and admiration for the twin connection.
In 2024, Liam shared an amusing anecdote about fans mistaking his twin for him in public. He mentioned that his brother often gets approached by fans in Manchester, assuming he is Liam.
Coronation Street airs on ITV1 and ITVX from Monday to Friday at 8:30 pm.
