“Formula 1 CEO Urges Hamilton Revival for Strong Ferrari Impact”

Must read

Formula 1’s top executive, Stefano Domenicali, is advocating for Lewis Hamilton to rediscover his form, emphasizing that a strong Ferrari presence would benefit the sport. Domenicali, the Italian CEO of F1 and a former Ferrari team principal, plays a vital role in the financial success of the sport, where success on the track by Ferrari could enhance the overall appeal.

However, the need for rapid and substantial improvements is evident. Currently under the leadership of team principal Frederic Vasseur, Ferrari endured a winless 2025 season, with their sole triumph occurring early in the year when Hamilton claimed victory in Shanghai during his first Sprint race in the red team’s colors.

The initial joy swiftly turned to disappointment when both Hamilton and Charles Leclerc were disqualified from the Chinese Grand Prix due to a ride height error, setting a precedent for the rest of the challenging season where the seven-time F1 champion failed to secure a single podium finish for the first time in his career.

With new engine and aerodynamic regulations set for the upcoming 2026 season, Ferrari has an opportunity for a fresh start and to break their prolonged title drought. Domenicali, now the chief executive of F1, expressed optimism about Ferrari’s prospects under the new rules but cautioned that a strategic approach is crucial to break the cycle of disappointing outcomes.

Leclerc managed to secure seven podium finishes and outperformed Hamilton in the drivers’ standings by 86 points, despite the latter celebrating his 41st birthday recently. Hamilton, who had a subdued winter break following a challenging debut season with Ferrari, emphasized the need for change and growth in a recent Instagram post.
