“Man, 39, Charged with Homicide of Hampshire Housemaid”

A man, aged 39, has been formally accused of the homicide of a housemaid who was found stabbed in her residence in a small village in Hampshire. The victim, Gilly Livie, aged 68, was discovered by emergency medical personnel and law enforcement officials at her thatched cottage in Cheriton, Hampshire, at 10:30 am on January 9. Despite efforts to save her, she was pronounced dead at the scene. A subsequent examination indicated that she had succumbed to a stab wound to her neck.

Additionally, a man found at the same location was swiftly taken to a medical facility with severe injuries, according to Hampshire police. Following the incident, the man was taken into custody on suspicion of murder and moved from the hospital to police detention on Monday.

In an official statement released on Tuesday, the police department declared, “This evening, Daniel Livie, 39, residing at Winstreet Close, Alton, has been formally accused of murder.” Furthermore, he is also facing charges related to making threats to another individual on January 8. Livie is scheduled to appear in front of Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.
