Apple has introduced a major software update designed to enhance creativity for a wider audience. The renowned US technology company is launching a new platform called Creative Studio, giving MacBook and iPad users access to premium software at a more affordable monthly rate.
This service provides full access to professional applications like Final Cut Pro for video editing, Logic Pro for music creation, and Pixelmator Pro as an alternative to Adobe’s Photoshop.
Upon its release later this month, Apple users can subscribe to the service for £12.99 per month or £129 per year, offering great value considering the software included in the package. For instance, Final Cut Pro alone costs £300 on the App Store, while Logic Pro is priced at £200.
By offering these software tools through a subscription model, Apple aims to make them more accessible to a broader audience.
Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Internet Software and Services, stated, “Apple Creator Studio is a valuable offering that enables creators of all kinds to pursue their craft and enhance their skills by providing easy access to powerful and intuitive tools for video editing, music production, creative imaging, and visual productivity, enhanced with advanced intelligent features to streamline workflows.”
Furthermore, Creative Studio includes additional features such as MainStage, which transforms the Mac into a versatile instrument, voice processor, or guitar rig. Motion, another included tool, is a robust graphics software for creating cinematic 2D and 3D effects, featuring intelligent functions like Magnetic Mask for effortless isolation and tracking without a green screen.
Subscribers will also gain access to enhanced features and premium content for Keynote, Pages, and Numbers apps, with a boost for iPhone, iPad, and Mac devices planned for later in the year.
While Keynote, Pages, and Numbers will remain free, they will receive enhancements for Creative Studio subscribers.
Cue added, “There has never been a more flexible and accessible way to start using such a powerful suite of creative apps, suitable for professionals, emerging artists, entrepreneurs, students, and educators to produce their best work and explore creative interests from start to finish.”
Apple Creator Studio will be accessible on the App Store starting on Wednesday, January 28, with a one-month free trial available for all users. Additionally, individuals purchasing a MacBook or iPad will receive a three-month trial period.
Apple has also announced discounted rates for university students, offering the software bundle at only £2.99 per month or £29.99 per year to support education.
