Apple is set to release iOS 26 next week, offering new features for iPhone users at no cost. The tech giant has confirmed that the update will be available on September 15, just a few days away from now. The announcement of this major update was made back in June during the WWDC showcase.
Upon installation, iOS 26 will introduce a range of new features, including a refreshed look called Liquid Glass, providing a glossy appearance. Additionally, changes to the Lock Screen will allow the clock to adapt fluidly to the available display space.
One notable addition in iOS 26 is the Call Screening feature, designed to prevent unwanted cold calls by requiring unknown numbers to confirm their identity before reaching the user. For frequent travelers, the update will offer real-time translation for calls and texts.
It’s important to keep in mind that Apple typically does not specify a release time for its software updates. Past patterns suggest that the update may be available around 6pm. However, not all iPhone models are compatible with iOS 26. Compatible devices include iPhone 16 Pro/Pro Max, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16, iPhone 16e, and various other models listed.
The news of the iOS launch was shared during the iPhone 17 launch event. For more information on the announcements made during the event, visit the respective link.
