“Mercedes Chief Supports Hamilton Through Ferrari Struggles”

Must read

Mercedes’ head of communications has revealed that team principal Toto Wolff has been supporting former driver Lewis Hamilton during a tough season with Ferrari. The seven-time world champion has been struggling to adjust to the team, facing challenges with the car’s performance and race strategies.

Hamilton’s difficulties were highlighted at the recent Qatar Grand Prix, where he failed to progress beyond Q1 in qualifying and finished outside the points in 12th place. Currently, he holds the sixth position in the drivers’ standings and risks dropping to seventh after the final race in Abu Dhabi.

Expressing his frustration with his debut season at Ferrari, Hamilton described 2025 as his “worst season ever,” despite giving his all on and off the track. Mercedes has shown personal support to Hamilton during this trying period, with discussions and assistance provided by Wolff, who has even accompanied Hamilton to race events.

In a statement to CHAMP1, Mercedes’ chief communications officer, Bradley Lord, empathized with Hamilton’s struggles, acknowledging the emotional toll it can take on a driver. The team is committed to backing Hamilton in their unique ways, believing in his potential to overcome the challenges and bounce back stronger in the future.

As Hamilton prepares for the final race in Abu Dhabi, aiming to secure his sixth-place standing in the drivers’ rankings, the focus is on ending the season on a positive note. This race marks the end of Hamilton driving the current Ferrari model, which has posed numerous difficulties for him. Additionally, Arthur Leclerc will replace Hamilton in the first free practice session.

Despite the setbacks, Ferrari’s team principal, Fred Vasseur, has urged the team to persevere and strive for a competitive edge, emphasizing the need to learn from past mistakes and push forward. Ferrari is determined to conclude the season strongly before setting sights on the upcoming 2026 campaign.
