“Ofcom Report: Plusnet Tops Broadband, EE at Bottom”

Must read

Ofcom has recently published its latest report on consumer complaints, shedding light on which broadband, TV, and telecom companies are excelling and faltering. The data reveals an overall decrease in complaints compared to the previous quarter, indicating a positive trend in customer satisfaction.

Despite the overall improvement, there are clear winners and losers in the industry. EE, a BT-owned platform, finds itself at the bottom of the broadband complaints list, with the highest number of grievances according to Ofcom.

On the bright side, Plusnet, also under the BT umbrella, emerges as the top performer in broadband services, boasting the fewest complaints among the providers assessed.

In terms of broadband complaints per 100,000 customers, the rankings are as follows:
– Plusnet: 4 complaints
– Sky: 6 complaints
– Virgin Media: 8 complaints
– BT: 9 complaints
– TalkTalk: 9 complaints
– NOW: 9 complaints
– Vodafone: 9 complaints
– EE: 10 complaints

The report extends beyond broadband issues to include analysis of Landline, Mobile, and Pay-TV complaints. Utility Warehouse shines in the landline category with zero complaints per 100,000 customers, while EE lags behind with a score of 8 complaints per 100,000.

For TV services, TalkTalk and Sky stand out with minimal complaints of 1 and 2 per 100,000 customers, respectively. Conversely, EE faces criticism with 6 complaints per 100,000 customers.

In the mobile services arena, EE, Vodafone, and Tesco Mobile lead the pack with only 1 complaint per 100,000 customers each.

Commenting on the report, USwitch emphasized the overall decline in complaints across various services, noting EE’s improved performance despite remaining a frequent target of dissatisfaction. Service-related issues continue to be the primary driver of complaints in both mobile and broadband sectors, underscoring the critical role of reliable connectivity in customer satisfaction.

As prices rise, service providers are urged to enhance service quality and value to meet consumer expectations. The report serves as a reminder for consumers to regularly compare service offerings and switch providers if necessary to ensure their needs are met effectively.
