“Tiger Woods Takes Break After Back Surgery”

Must read

Tiger Woods has acknowledged that he will be taking a break from playing golf following a recent back surgery he underwent in October. This surgery marked the seventh procedure specifically on his back, with a total of three major operations in the last two years, including surgeries on his Achilles and ankle.

Despite his illustrious career that began nearly three decades ago, Woods has struggled with injuries, with his most recent triumph being the 2019 Masters, ending an 11-year Major title drought. While he managed to host the Hero World Challenge golf tournament in the Bahamas, Woods understands that he has a long road to recovery ahead before returning to the golf course.

Although he initially made light-hearted remarks about playing numerous events, Woods later expressed a more serious tone, emphasizing the importance of focusing on his rehabilitation and gradual return to the game before considering his future schedule and commitments.

Recently cleared to resume chipping and putting after six weeks, Woods highlighted the slow progress following his disc replacement surgery and the necessity to gradually strengthen and rehabilitate his body before considering a full return to competitive play.

One significant driving force for Woods is the opportunity to break the PGA tournament wins record, currently tied at 82 with golf legend Sam Snead. Notah Begay III, a close friend of Woods, mentioned that the biggest challenge for Woods post-surgery is the physical demand of navigating the golf course on foot.

Overall, Woods remains determined to overcome his physical setbacks and work towards reclaiming his position at the top of professional golf.
