Newly released video footage reveals the sequence of events where Renee Good was shot three times by an ICE agent after attempting to maneuver her car around him. The video, recorded by the agent, provides a detailed perspective leading up to the incident.
In the video, Good’s car is seen partially obstructing the road as the agent exits his vehicle to walk around her car, capturing her face and license plate. Good remains calm, stating, “That’s fine, dude. I’m not mad at you,” while another person, likely her partner, films the encounter.
During the interaction, Good asserts, “We don’t change our plates every morning. They’ll still be the same plates when you come talk to us later. That’s fine. US citizen and former veteran.” As the situation unfolds, Good is shown reversing her car to allow other vehicles to pass by.
As additional officers approach demanding Good to exit the vehicle, she attempts to drive around the agent in front of her. Following this, three shots are fired, and the agent is heard using derogatory language towards Good as her car speeds away.
The footage contradicts claims made by the White House regarding the incident and sheds light on the context of the events. It confirms that Good obstructed the road but was not aggressive. Importantly, the video shows that Good was not intentionally trying to harm the officer but was steering to avoid him.
Shortly after the video’s release, US Vice President JD Vance claimed it supported his assertion that Good was deliberately targeting the officer. He criticized the media for misrepresenting the officer’s actions, calling it “disgusting.”
