“Virgin Media Enhances TV Search with Visual Upgrade”

Must read

Virgin Media is set to introduce a significant upgrade to its TV platform, enhancing the search experience for users. The telecoms company announced the upcoming changes in a blog post, highlighting the shift towards a more visual search function.

Currently, Virgin users navigate through a standard list view when searching for content. However, the forthcoming update will revolutionize this process by showcasing vibrant images instead of text.

In a statement, Virgin confirmed, “We’re rolling out some helpful improvements to how you search on our Stream box and Virgin TV 360.” The update aims to eliminate mundane search results and replace them with visually engaging image results, streamlining the search process.

The update will be automatically applied to devices such as the 360 and Stream boxes. Virgin reassured users that no additional steps are required on their end to receive the update, emphasizing the seamless transition.

This enhancement is designed to expedite content discovery, reducing the time spent scrolling through channels. Users can utilize Virgin’s search function to locate specific shows, movies, genres, and actors effortlessly by either typing their query or using voice search.

To initiate a search, users can press the magnifying glass button on the remote and input their query, as Smart Search typically requires only a few letters for results. Alternatively, users can hold down the remote’s microphone button and verbally state the desired content, with search options appearing as they type or speak.

Users are encouraged to explore various search queries using their remote control, such as finding shows related to “John Wick,” feel-good movies, reality TV programs, or live sports broadcasts.

By incorporating these enhancements, Virgin Media aims to provide a more intuitive and efficient search experience for its users, ultimately enhancing the overall viewing experience.
