“Stockport Man Sentenced for Coercive Abuse and Violence”

Must read

A violent criminal showed no remorse as authorities interrogated him about a horrifying series of abusive actions. James Saxon isolated his victim from loved ones, closely monitored her every move, and subjected her to a prolonged period of control and intimidation over three years in Stockport, Greater Manchester, according to court testimony.

Between January 2022 and April 2025, Saxon systematically eroded the victim’s self-esteem, even during her pregnancy, the police stated. The victim, who courageously confronted him in court, mentioned that his substance abuse exacerbated his erratic and aggressive behavior, fueled by cocaine, cannabis, and steroids.

Disturbing CCTV footage from the victim’s residence captured Saxon yelling at her and neighbors, including threatening language. The court heard how he restricted the victim’s freedom, monitored her closely, and used threats and coercion to dominate her, as evidenced by the ring doorbell footage presented in court.

Furthermore, he callously dismissed the victim’s miscarriage, threatened harm while inside a car, and engaged in escalating harassment and intimidation, even after being arrested and released on bail. Saxon’s drug-induced paranoia led him to believe false stories about the victim, resulting in violent and erratic actions, such as searching for a nonexistent rapist armed with a hammer.

The victim recounted being locked in a room by Saxon, who callously disregarded her pleas, leaving her contemplating escape through a window. His aggression peaked when he punched a wall in the emergency room following her miscarriage, causing her further distress.

Video evidence released by the Greater Manchester Police depicted Saxon’s arrest and his nonchalant behavior during questioning. Despite being handcuffed, he laughed and joked, displaying a lack of remorse and control over the situation.

During the trial, the victim detailed the profound impact of Saxon’s coercive and controlling behavior on her mental and physical well-being. She expressed ongoing fear for her safety and her family’s, emphasizing the lasting emotional scars from the abuse.

Saxon, residing on Ludlow Road in Stockport, admitted guilt to multiple charges, including coercive behavior, weapon possession, and assault. He received a two-year, three-month prison sentence and a five-year restraining order from Manchester Crown Court.

PC Elizabeth Andrews of Stockport’s Domestic Abuse Team highlighted the victim’s bravery in coming forward and emphasized the importance of reporting such behavior to prevent others from enduring similar situations. The conviction sends a strong message that GMP will not tolerate such actions and will strive to protect victims and hold offenders accountable.
