Man Falls to His Death from Seventh-Floor Balcony in Sydney Tragedy

A tragic incident unfolded in Sydney’s south-west, resulting in a man falling to his death from a seventh-floor balcony in front of police officers who had responded to a call from a female resident reporting a domestic violence situation early today.

The 55-year-old man was found on the seventh-floor balcony railing by officers from Fairfield City Police Area Command. Despite attempts by NSW Ambulance paramedics to treat his critical head injuries, the man succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Following the incident on Hamilton Road, Fairfield, a 46-year-old woman inside the unit was evaluated by paramedics for minor injuries and shock. A critical incident team from Auburn Police Area Command has been tasked with investigating the circumstances surrounding the tragedy, with oversight from the Law Enforcement Conduct Commission and an independent review by the Professional Standards Command.
