A significant police presence has been deployed to an area of woodland in Gateshead, where emergency services are addressing an ongoing incident. The site near a pathway on Old Durham Road and within the woodland has been cordoned off, with four police vehicles and investigative teams present.
Witnesses reported seeing officers in white suits conducting investigations at the scene, which is now guarded by police. Images reveal law enforcement searching the wooded area behind the cordon near the junction of Old Durham Road and Shipcote Terrace in Gateshead, according to Chronicle Live.
Responding to the incident, the North East Ambulance Service confirmed sending a clinical team leader and an ambulance crew to the junction of Old Durham Road and Split Crow Road in Gateshead following a call received shortly after 3:45 pm on January 20.
