A YouTuber with a passion for travel and off-road vehicles shared his top three favorite countries that left him amazed. Originally from Australia, Dan Grec moved to Canada after pursuing an engineering degree two decades ago. Despite being tied to a desk job, he dreamt of exploring the world’s adventures. Dan saved up, quit his job, sold everything, and embarked on a journey to Alaska.

From there, he continued south, driving through 17 countries over two years to reach the southern tip of South America. Dan’s travels have taken him to 65 countries across five continents, with 35 of those in Africa. While he doesn’t aim to visit every country, he enjoys exploring remote places and plans to keep exploring.

When asked about his favorite destinations, Dan struggled to choose but eventually highlighted Gabon as one of his top picks. He described Gabon in West Africa as a remarkable country with friendly people, vast wilderness, and diverse wildlife, including chimpanzees, mandrills, gorillas, and elephants.

Gabon, also known as “Africa’s last Eden,” features dense rainforests and stunning white-sand beaches. Travelers can explore attractions like Loango National Park, Ivindo National Park, and the capital city Libreville, known for its museums and vibrant markets. The country’s average temperatures hover around 26C, with the best time to visit being from May to September.

Another favorite destination for Dan is Iceland, renowned for its breathtaking landscapes. The Nordic island, known as the “Land of Fire and Ice,” boasts volcanic vistas, waterfalls, geothermal activity, and the famous Blue Lagoon spa. Visitors can experience lava fields, hunt for the Northern Lights, and explore various natural wonders like waterfalls and coastal areas.

Lastly, Dan expressed his love for Argentina, a South American nation with diverse landscapes stretching from subtropical regions in the north to sub-Antarctic territories in the south. Argentina is famous for its cultural heritage, including tango, iconic falls, and notable literary figures. Travelers can explore attractions like Buenos Aires, the Iberá Wetlands, and Patagonia, known for its striking scenery.

Overall, Dan’s adventures have taken him across the globe, showcasing his love for exploration and remote travel experiences.
