Amazon has unveiled two new e-readers with color displays, offering a refreshing change from the traditional black and white e-ink screens. The Colorsoft Signature Edition Kindle, released last year, also features a vibrant screen.
The first new device, the Kindle Colorsoft, comes with 16GB storage, quick page turns, adjustable warm light, long battery life lasting weeks, and access to the Kindle bookstore. While not as fully equipped as the Signature Edition, it is priced more affordably at £239.99 compared to £269.99.
Buyers can trade in their old e-readers for a 20% discount on the new Colorsoft Kindle and receive three months of free Kindle Unlimited subscription. Additionally, Amazon has introduced the Amazon Kindle Colorsoft Kids priced at £259, which includes 12 months of Amazon Kids+, a kid-friendly cover, and a 2-year worry-free guarantee.
Amazon Kids+ is a subscription service offering thousands of books and audiobooks for children, usually priced at £4.99 per month. The Colorsoft Kids model features a colorful display, water-resistant design, and built-in light for nighttime reading.
Amazon aims to encourage young readers with colorful displays, noting that kids spend over 45 minutes daily reading on their Kindle. Both devices are now available for purchase on Amazon and other UK retailers.
