Nathan Fielder, the well-known Vancouver-born comedian, writer, and director, has revealed a sneak peek of his upcoming project following the recent season of “The Rehearsal.” The teaser released late Sunday introduces his new documentary focusing on Elizabeth Holmes, the founder of Theranos, who faced fraud charges in 2022 for misleading claims about revolutionary blood testing technology.
Titled “You Can See Everything,” the film, a collaboration between Fielder and filmmaker Lance Oppenheim, delves into the period leading to Holmes’s 2023 imprisonment. Oppenheim, known for projects like “Spermworld” (2024) and “Some Kind of Heaven” (2020), has established himself as a talented documentarian.
Fielder gained fame through his show “Nathan For You” on Comedy Central, where he humorously dispenses misguided business advice. The documentary, distributed by A24, showcases the distinct visual style of the production company and features a captivating one-minute interaction between Fielder and Holmes, adding to the intrigue.
The trailer premiered unexpectedly at the Telluride Film Festival in Colorado, with critics expressing high praise on social media. Director Daniel Howat described the documentary as “hysterical, shocking, and insane,” while music producer Erik Nordgren hailed it as the best film of the year, noting its unique and impactful storytelling approach.
The buzz surrounding Fielder’s latest work draws parallels to his past uncomfortable interviews, such as the memorable exchange with former CBC president Hubert T. Lacroix. The anticipation builds as “You Can See Everything” is scheduled for a theatrical release in the coming month.
