Rod Stewart Slams Trump for NATO Troop Comments

Must read

Sir Rod Stewart has strongly criticized US President Donald Trump for his recent comments regarding NATO troops in Afghanistan. Trump’s remarks, suggesting that the troops in Afghanistan did not serve on the front lines, have sparked outrage from the British armed forces, families of soldiers, politicians, and celebrities.

The 81-year-old musician, who was once neighbors with Trump in Florida and attended Christmas parties at his residence, expressed his disapproval of Trump’s statements on Fox News in a video posted on Instagram. Stewart, a Knight of the realm, emphasized his deep respect for the armed forces and condemned Trump for criticizing troops who fought in Afghanistan, calling them nearly cowards.

In his plea to Prime Minister Starmer and Farage, Stewart urged them to push for an apology from Trump, whom he referred to as a “draft dodger.” Trump, responding to the backlash, hailed the UK soldiers’ bravery in Afghanistan but fell short of issuing the apology demanded by Stewart.

Stewart, who used to consider Trump a friend but has distanced himself since Trump’s presidency, highlighted the change in their relationship, stating that Trump has become a different person from the one he once knew.
