One of Mikey’s friends answered the call and delivered the devastating news that Mikey had been stabbed and was no longer alive.
Arriving at the house in Bath where the tragic incident occurred, Hayley struggled to accept the reality that her teenage son had passed away. The police informed her that Mikey had been fatally stabbed during a fight at the party.
Mikey, a popular teenager from Bristol, was known for his passion for music. Despite creating drill music with violent lyrics, he was not affiliated with any gang and had no criminal record. However, he was aware of the increasing knife crime in Bristol and had expressed concerns about being stabbed.
Following investigations and testimonies from witnesses, the authorities arrested Shane Cunningham and two others in connection with the incident. Shane was eventually convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison, with a minimum of 16 years.
