Users will now have the option to translate messages by long-pressing and selecting ‘Translate’ when they encounter a message in a different language. This feature will be available for 1:1 chats, groups, and Channel updates. Additionally, Android users can opt for automatic translation for entire chat threads.

The rollout of message translations will begin today, starting with a few select languages on Android and iPhone devices. Android users will initially have access to translations in English, Spanish, Hindi, Portuguese, Russian, and Arabic, while iPhone users can expect the feature in over 19 languages.

WhatsApp hopes that this new feature will foster deeper connections among users worldwide by facilitating seamless communication and understanding across diverse linguistic backgrounds.
