“Freeview TV Update: New Channels for Movies and Kids”

Must read

If you own a Freeview TV at home, it’s a great time to ensure it’s updated and retuned. Recently, two new channels have been introduced to the free-to-view platform, offering movies and kids’ TV content.

One of the new channels is wedotv Movies UK, which has transitioned from an online-only service to a full over-the-air channel. This allows all households to access it, even those without internet-connected TVs. The channel airs a lineup of recent blockbuster films such as One-Eyed Jacks, Willow Creek, and The Way.

Additionally, a channel called Cartoon Classics has been launched for children and can be located on channel 214. It features classic animated shows like The Smurfs, Count Duckula, Sonic X, and Leo & Tig.

To enjoy these new channels on your TV, it’s recommended to check and update your settings. Freeview has advised users to retune their devices due to upcoming changes by broadcasters on October 22, 2025, to keep their channels and TV Guide current.

In other news, Gems TV on channel 45 will now be known as Gemporia.

For users needing guidance on how to retune their devices, Freeview has provided the following steps:

– Press the menu button on your TV remote control or box.
– Select options like ‘set-up’, ‘installation’, or ‘update’.
– Opt for ‘first-time installation’ or similar.
– Confirm if asked to delete existing channels and save newly found channels.

Freeview emphasized that channels evolve continuously, with additions, removals, and relocations made by individual channels to provide diverse content for viewers.
