Singer and actress Selena Gomez is facing a lawsuit from investors who allege she engaged in fraudulent activities by not fulfilling her obligations to develop and promote her mental health startup. The investors, who put in around $1.2 million in Wondermind Global, a company that launched in 2021 with a mission to enhance users’ “mental fitness,” have taken legal action in federal court in Delaware.
According to the lawsuit, investors were promised that Gomez, a prominent figure on social media with over 500 million followers, would actively participate in the company’s marketing efforts. However, they claim that Gomez and other company executives did not follow through on their commitments, such as the creation of a mobile app.
The lawsuit states, “Gomez allegedly signed a contract committing to her responsibilities but failed to uphold them.” The plaintiffs further assert that the company did not fulfill its basic obligations, like timely payments to employees and vendors, and that there was no genuine business plan in place.
A spokesperson for Gomez has not yet responded to requests for comment on the matter. The lawsuit reveals that the investors were unaware of the company’s challenges until a news report surfaced online in September 2025. The plaintiffs are seeking to recover their investments along with legal expenses.
