“Samsung Leads in Smart Home Tech for Everyday Living”

Must read

Smart technology is increasingly being integrated into our daily lives, with devices like automated vacuum cleaners, refrigerators that suggest recipes based on their contents, and heating systems that can be controlled remotely. While these advancements may seem futuristic, they can also be intimidating for those new to Wi-Fi-connected home gadgets.

Despite some reluctance towards the idea of Artificial Intelligence (AI) infiltrating households, Samsung is actively enhancing its technology offerings at a rapid pace. The company aims to simplify the transition to smart home living through investments in smart devices and its user-friendly SmartThings app, with the added benefit of potentially reducing monthly utility bills.

According to Deborah Honig, Chief Customer Officer at Samsung UK & Ireland, the focus is not on creating a sci-fi home but on practical conveniences that enhance daily life, such as automated lighting, instant heating upon arrival, and energy-saving appliances. Samsung’s existing range of smart appliances includes washing machines that adjust water usage based on load size and AI-powered dishwashers unveiled at the recent IFA technology show.

These new devices feature innovative functions like optimized cleaning cycles and energy-efficient operations, leveraging AI to cut costs and even sync with energy providers for optimal usage times. Samsung’s commitment to adapting to users’ lifestyles is evident in features like the laundry planner on the SmartThings app, which helps manage laundry schedules efficiently.

While premium smart appliances may come with a higher price tag, starting small with energy-monitoring smart plugs or smart lighting can offer cost-effective entry points to smart home technology. Honig suggests that even without smart appliances, simple additions like smart plugs connected to the SmartThings app can provide insights into energy consumption, contributing to overall savings and peace of mind.

Embracing smart technology in the home offers not just convenience but also potential energy and cost savings, making the integration of AI-driven devices a compelling choice for modern households.
